  • Good News--We completed phase 1 of our technology plan for this year with $62,000 of spending on technology (3 classroom solutions and two Dell carts)--This should be celebrated!  --more to come...
  • Phase 2--focus has changed to the Dell Mini's since people have enjoyed using them, and they are getting more use even then the classroom solutions
    • waiting to see what happens with the next school bond which might outfit all rooms anyway
  • We will be getting two new solutions as part of the school districts' matching funds grant (which require money be spend on classroom solutions):
    • 1) to go to Mr. Schnably (last person from previous round of proposals who did not get one)
    • The other one going to social studies teachers with preference to 7th grade in main building (not to 6th because because the school district will not insure equipment in PODS and we would rather not see our own money possibly get stolen)
    • All proposals for solutions will be read at June SIT meeting--so Social Studies teachers and anyone interested in a future acquisition, please apply
  • SIT MVP's:
    • 1)  CONGRATULATIONS to Lisha Vannoy & Joanna Palmer for their work with the "Jefferson's got talent show" and fund raiser for Japan!

  • Spirit night:  Teachers and he had more fun than maybe the kids?
  • Celebrity nugget round, Royal won!  was under review?
  • For the overall nugget eating winner--Commissioners decision was Matt Fossa, and Mr. Augustine the runner up

John Downs:  Computer technology End of year procedures.
  • We reviewed the form to be used when checking out the Dell Mini Cart--this is necessary because of the two laptops that have gone missing.
    • This form should be used for every class that uses the Dell Mini's and important to take a count before and after EVERY class--this is how we have tracked down the missing ones that have been stolen.
  • For year end procedure, please review Mr. Down's Year End Technology check list WEBSITE
    • Focus on--getting website summer ready--several resources on my page including:
      • reading lists
      • dates for next year
      • link to supply lists
      • etc.
    • Remember to BACK UP ALL DATA ON H drive that you intend to keep--suggestions:
    • NCWISE Grade information and instructions are all outlined in section 4 of the year end page

  • 7th and 8th grade report to separate sites immediately following announcements
Thanks to all the support!!

Clarification: (sent by e-mail from Candi

applies to ALL of you as an administrator for separate settings.

"Because you have students with specific modifications which can not necessarily be grouped with other students who only need extended time, your students should continue working until either all have finished or I make an announcement to end the testing session.  I will be checking on separate testing sites to see the progress towards finishing in these separate settings, allowing you opportunity to give students a five minute warning for an upcoming break.  Upon an extended break, like for lunch, students will not be allowed to returned to the section they were working on prior to the break.  (This is highlighted in your TAM.)  This section will be paper clipped prior to the break.

Upon approaching the 11:00-11:15 time period, I will call for test administrators to collect all materials to turn in and then have students gather in the media center to determine groupings and breaks for lunch."

Francis:
Pe Locks,  if you need to see who has not turned in all their locks, just go to teacher resources, and select PE locks Link  send them in morning or PE time, please not at lunch.

Other Updates from Mr. Royal,
  • State Board of Education, will not authorize use of Furlough Day...Brad will forward the e-mail

Surveys that are non negotioable--We have to do them --sorry
KEY survey

Other Items from Mr. Royal
  • June 8th Technology training would normally cost money--"reaching and teaching//technology integration"--Brad has a brochure--The technology workshop in June is free as Mr. Royal has a sponsor who is willing to pay for 4-6 interested TJMS teachers...needs to know by Friday
  • Would like to restart a robotics club here next year, some start up money associated with it...one of "those attracters".   Cook Medical engineers --wants to have a staff sponsor...
  • Grade Clarification:
    • two easy pieces:
    • NCWISE will calculate,  we can not lower kids grades from NCWISE
    • You can decide if a kid deserves better.
    • final calculation is based on midpoint of letter range.
  • Retention meetings:
    • guidance has been scheduling those
    • will meet in Brad's office by teams to discuss.
    • We can not retain half of each grade level/has to be a limit
  • your input into schedules for next year is need and wanted:
    • --make a list of students who do not need to be together or kids who should be together--he will do some hand scheduling

  • End of school packet:
  • Also included a check list of what you are interested in participating --clubs/sports
  • make sure you get in by due date
Enjoy a chick-fil-a treat...coupons at your table
